On the one hand there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Creation is what it always has been. And yet every morning is an expression of newness (Lamentations 3:23). There is an ongoing progress in creation, an innate bias toward adaption, new expression or freshness yet also never leaving a continuity from what’s been: every sunrise is different and yet it’s the same sun; every wave on the beach is unique yet it’s the same ocean.
Even my boys are a fresh and new expression of humanity, yet, as many have said, you can see me all over them! The apple doesn’t fall far from the three, as they say.
As I live each new day , may I build well on the experiences and fruit of my previous days, weeks, months and years. This is what God does in me, through me and in the world. I align with His working as I do the same.
God’s vision is bigger and longer than mine, working towards generations that are yet to come by establishing the ‘building blocks’ for those generations even today.
May I see my life not only for what is now, but also for the generations to come that I may not be able to see, but God can and has those new generations in mind even now.
May the seed of my life bear great fruit after I am gone.
“Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord”. Psalm 102:18
