ORANGE TIP: Celebrate…

ORANGE TIP: Celebrate...

Perhaps my rose coloured glasses are all half-full, but we have a lot to celebrate.

Wherever I look I see our kids growing and learning, being invested into and investing right back into our church family.

I see our teens, hungry to learn more about God, enthusiastically contributing to our church family and building friendships that will support them through the years ahead.

I see emerging adults actively seeking to be challenged and invested in and growing passionate about passing on what they have learnt to others.

I see ahem older folks willingly mentoring and discipling our young people in a connected family network of relationships that encourage accountability, responsibility and care.

Is everything perfect? – No! Not by a long way.

Does it all run smoothly? – Ummm, no. There’s real people involved!

Is God at work? – Yes! Yes! Yes!

As we reflect on the challenges and trials we face in raising a family or in being part of a kids or youth ministry team we need to take time to celebrate the good things that are happening and thank God for the work He is doing.

I encourage you this week to take time to notice a good-news story, something you see God doing in your family, in your ministry, in your kids. Take time to thank God for it. Take a moment – or more – to celebrate it in some way. Take a minute to pass it on – tell your kids how proud you are of them, write an encouraging note to someone, tell another parent or your friend or a pastor or someone….Celebrate (Psalm 145:3-7).

What is ‘Orange’? Orange is a visual reminder that to help our kids follow Jesus the church and families need to work together.

If RED represents the love and heart of families for their kids…

And YELLOW represents the light that the church should be in the world…

Then ORANGE is when we come together, work together and guide our children together.
