God Coloured Glasses
I am grateful that God loves me just as I am, but loves me too much to leave me where I am… I am also grateful for Pastor Stu’s reminder last week that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus who walk according to the spirit (Rom 8:1).
I am constantly failing in my attitudes and behaviour, and was reminded recently about an incident (many moons ago) where I was particularly disappointed and hurt by someone I love and respect as I heard them talk about someone else I love very much. I thought they had a one-eyed view of things, and that they weren’t seeing things clearly. As I pondered this God gave me a picture of the glasses I was wearing, they had a lens missing and my finger prints had smudged them and made them hard to see clearly through. I wrote this testimony down as He taught me again about the log in my own eye. (Matt 7:5).
A similar incident happened recently with that same person I love and respect, and I was searching everywhere for that piece I had written, when the Lord showed me that although there was a good message about love, acceptance and forgiveness in the testimony, my motive for finding it was wrong, I was wanting to point the finger at this person and point out their bad behaviour (there’s that log again).
Praise God that he who has begun a good work in me is faithful to complete it (Phil 1:6). As we walk according to the spirit, the love and forgiveness of Christ in us is to be offered to all without discrimination. Thank you Lord for your loving rebukes.
The lenses our loving God looks through have an amazing coating on them, it’s called the Blood of Jesus… As we walk together, let’s help each other change our lenses for His…
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Matt 7:2
