Sometimes Jesus’s call upon us to be disciple makers just seems too big and daunting so we give up. Perhaps you’ve talked to people about Jesus but been knocked back. Perhaps you’re not sure how to talk to people. Perhaps you don’t consider yourself the right personality for it. What if we’ve just made it much harder for ourselves than we’ve needed? Luke 9 and 10 captivate me for a whole lot of reasons, one being Jesus gives us profound insight into how to go about disciple making.
One insight is this: look for people of peace to share the gospel / your faith with (10:5-6). There are many people out there who we can share our testimony with. Some will listen, some won’t. While we are called to love everyone, look for the people of peace in your life who are ready to hear about Jesus.
How do we identify them? They are people who: like you, listen to you and serve you (by serve I mean offer to help out or serve you in some way). I suspect you have someone in your sphere of influence who might be ready to hear how Jesus has impacted you
