Locked Down but not Locked Out!

Locked Down but not Locked Out!

As we all re-learn life in lock-down it is good to remember that while we may be locked down or locked in, we are never locked out of the life God has for us. Through Jesus death and resurrection we, by faith, have Christ living in us. It is only what Paul, in 2 Corinthians 4:6-12 calls our ‘jars of clay’, that are locked up. We can continue to live without being crushed, without succumbing to despair, knowing we are never abandoned and never destroyed (v 8-9). In fact this passage from Paul’s letter to the church in Corinth emphasizes that it is in darkness that God’s light shines the brightest, that in the rough and tumble of life – in the hard times, the lockdowns and the restrictions, the life of Jesus in us can be shown in the way we continue to live as Christ (v v 10) in our family, community, workplace, school or home. How we respond to the challenges that life and lockdown throws at us as adults, parents, mentors and leaders will impact our children. As they look for examples and models of how to respond may we make every effort to allow Christ to live in us and God’ light to shine through brightly in even the darker moments.

*What is ‘Orange’? Orange is a visual reminder that to help our kids follow Jesus, the church and families need to work together.

If RED represents the love and heart of families for their kids…

And YELLOW represents the light that the church should be in the world…

Then ORANGE is when we come together, work together and guide our children together.
