New Farmers Markets in Upper Coomera

The first Farmer’s Markets were held in conjunction with Community One Markets at The Well on Sunday 22 August. We’ve been discussing these for nearly a year now, and it was with great excitement and some nerves on Sunday when the markets opened for the first time.  There were about 15 stalls onsite, and there is the expectation that these numbers will grow over the following months.

Nerise Moore, from Community One Markets said afterwards that most of the storeholders underestimated the amount of stock that they needed, and this was a great way to open.  We had over 500 locals visit the markets, and many also visited Healthy Gemz who did a roaring trade.

Best of all, CrossLife Property Staff who were onsite to help with direction and any parking issues were able to speak to a number of locals who asked what else was happening on site, and let them know that church meets here too.  Many commented that they did not know the site existed, much less that there was a church here, so next time they would come into church as well as the markets.

Praise God!  Another connection into
our local community.

A comment from a local on the Highland Reserve Community Page on FaceBook

“This is a great opportunity for our little community, support the small local business and I think it has great potential!”

At Upper Coomera, ‘The Shed’ (our FQ HQ). Our Youth and Young Adults teams served our community by being the church in this space. Around 35 young people from the community accessed the Youth activities, some even bringing their parents along to join in. Praise God for the exciting times of connection.
Pray for the team as they engage each week at the Community Markets.
