The Journey 2020

The Journey 2020

Hi  CrossLife Family,

This year we will be seeing some changes to The Journey across CrossLife. Some of these are natural developments as the demographics of our various campus changes and they present us with new opportunities to invest in our 10-14 year olds. I’m excited that we have the opportunity to ‘freshen things up’ a bit by making some changes and seeing our church family continue to walk with our TJers as they explore their journey of discipleship.

In Term One we will be combining (at Helensvale campus) each week and doing a ‘Projects Term’. This is a chance for our TJers to connect with each other and to be encouraged, as they head back to school for the year, that they are part of a larger, loving family. We will also share lunch each week, celebrating walking with each other as we walk with God. The Journey will begin each week with a soft start time of 11.00am (allowing time for other campuses to get to HV) and will finish at 1pm sharp.

We have three opportunities for our wider church family to walk with TJers;

Project support – Do you have a skill or talent that you can pass onto a small group (8-12 people) of our TJers? Our TJ team will support you as you give our TJers an opportunity to learn a new skill, try something different or develop their gifts. What sort of skills? Here’s a few ideas;

Cooking /CateringMaking & Fixing
GardeningMusic & Singing
ArtDance
Crafts / Sewing / Model-makingDrama / Puppets / Clowning
Writing / BookclubPhotography / Film-making
Homework & Study skills Health & Fitness

Starting on Sunday February 9th there are 8 weeks of Project Term available to multiply your talents into our TJers. If you would rather make it for just 4 weeks we can look at splitting projects or pairing facilitators up.

Lunch Support – Lunch together with 30-50 kids and team is amazing and we have great times of sharing and laughter around the TJ table. If you are willing and able to come along to prepare, serve and share a meal with us one week during the term, or if you can contribute financially, that would be hugely appreciated! We love connecting our TJers with others in our church family. Our TJers and team will also help out with the cleanup!

Disciplers – Our TJ teams at all campuses have opportunities for people who are willing and passionate about seeing our 10-14 year olds grow in favour with God and people. A few disciplers at each campus, who are willing to invest a bit of time each week to walk with these younger members of our church family, value them and help them explore what it means to follow Jesus in their lives, makes a huge difference in their lives. You don’t need to be experienced or an expert, just willing to listen, love and learn alongside them. We provide curriculum material and structural support along with opportunities to develop your own skills.

If you would like to take this opportunity to walk with our TJers please contact Dean or your campus pastor.
