Truth in society today can mean something different to everyone. Depending on what ‘truth’ we choose to accept, it will reflect in our behavior as we act in line with that belief. CS LEWIS is quoted as saying, “Integrity is doing the right thing’. But the, ‘right thing’ can be debatable depending on our worldview. We see this most clearly in the political opinions raging around us at the moment and the ‘truth’ can be subjective depending on where you stand in regards to any particular issue.

Without getting into semantics, there can only be one truth. For example, 2+2=4. Although many people over the years have attempted to use all sorts of different methodologies and ideas to prove otherwise. The truth in the end is the truth, and no matter of spin doctoring can alter the fact.

Today, truth can be something different depending on who you ask. So as Christians, where does our foundational truth stem from? The answer, I believe, has always and will always be found in Jesus. Jesus, the author of all things tells Pontius Pilate in John 18:37b, ’…the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.’

As Christians, our truths are founded in God’s physical world and inspired holy word as described in Romans 1:18-20. As we hold to these truths, we will be persecuted  and our integrity tested over and again. However, what an incredible opportunity confronting us, as we are given the chance to continue loving people, brethren or no, with unconditional love, being Christ’s ambassadors revealing his truth to a broken world.

I implore us all to hold onto the truths we have in Christ and we will see the Church win through. We do not have to sacrifice the truth just to placate a world that has been confused by the enemy.

Stay strong sisters and brothers, glorify God, love one another deeply, read your bibles daily and continue to pray for one another.
