Not a Building

I have been reminded this week of the life changing responsibility the church holds as it represents Christ.
It is crucial for us that we remember that church is not about us, it is about JESUS!
Though he does use people and he is using you and I as those who call CrossLife home to Make a Difference in the lives of others. It is because of who He is and what He has done that the church exists.
My prayer for us today is as Paul prayed for the Ephesians in chapter one verses 17-23:
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
This was apparent last night in our church meeting and I believe in the two resolutions that were both approved.
I was especially encouraged that we affirmed Hannah Mitchell as a Pastor of the church and am thrilled that it is official!
We are the Church, not a building, not a service and Christ is the head of the Church.
As such and as we articulated at the start of this year. We are Stronger Together, we are Finding Freedom together in Christ, we are Treasuring God together and we seek to Make a Difference for the Kingdom together.
We are not perfect, far from it, though we do follow the perfect one, JESUS.
I hope you are having a great week and that you will join me as we seek to continue to honour and serve Him as a church and as we discuss the churches of Revelation in the coming weeks.
